Near the condo, nice restaurants there

The southern half of the island has some of the best shelling in the world.

There's like a $6 toll to cross the bridge onto the island, though.

Not exactly a beach, but totally worth checking out. There are dozens of manatees just hanging out there, because the nearby powerplant uses the river for coolant (so the water stays warm even in the winter; the manatees love it). Parking is $1/hour.

This might be too far away, but I'll mention it anyway. Fossilized shark teeth just wash up on the beach, and you can walk along and pick them up (you can usually find dozens per hour). I got my necklace from there (though most of the teeth you find are the size of a pinky fingernail, not the thumbnail-sized tooth on my necklace). If you go, either buy or rent a net-on-a-stick (I forget what they're called), so you can scoop up whatever is still in the water before other beachgoers get a chance.

If you have little kids, stop by the Venice Chamber of Commerce, and they'll give you a free bag of fossilized shark teeth.
